Sculpture

Musician Nagatak has announced an important collaboration with renowned visual artist Juan Chavarría for the design of the covers of his upcoming musical singles.

A sculpture was created specifically for this purpose, which bears the name “Life For Machine” and represents the artificial heart of a machine, capturing Nagatak’s distinctive musical concept. For this project, Juan Carlos used pieces of weapons from arms seized and destroyed by the Ministry of Security of the Republic of Costa Rica, provided through the non-profit foundation “Transformación en Tiempos Violentos / Transformation in Violent Times”.

Juan Carlos Chavarria

Juan Carlos Chavarría, born in San José, Costa Rica, in 1974, is more than a Costa Rican painter and sculptor; he is a visionary who has channeled his passion for art into the creation of meaningful works that transcend the boundaries of visual aesthetics.

Chavarría’s works not only adorn private collections in Costa Rica, South America, the United States and Europe, they have also given life to a transformative artistic technique in which Juan Carlos uses pieces of real weapons, confiscated by the Costa Rican Armed Forces and destroyed by the Directorate of Armaments, to make impressive works.
